Camí de l’Aigua
The Camí de l’Aigua is the backbone of the network of traditional paths of Alta Ribagorça and connects the municipalities of Pont de Suert and Vall de Boí on foot, following the course of the rivers Noguera de Tor and Noguera Ribagorçana. Through this path you can get to know part of the natural, cultural and landscape heritage of the region. The Camí de l’Aigua recovers old paths that connected the villages of the valley, royal, livestock and bridle paths. There are about 27 km that have water as a nexus, so present in this region. During the journey, the landscape combines riverside forests with meadows, oaks, pine forests, bird watching, popular architecture and, of course, Romanesque architecture.
The Camino begins at the Escales reservoir, specifically at the Font de la Mena, located at km 345 of the N-260 road, at Pont de Suert, and ends at the Caldes de Boí Spa, a dream place to rest, and at one of the entrances to the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, the only National Park in Catalonia where the high mountain landscape is unparalleled in the Catalan Pyrenees.
The Camí de l’Aigua has a low-medium level of difficulty, since we can do it in several stages, and it is also suitable for mountain biking, although in some sections it runs through narrow paths that require some technical skill. The use of this path is incompatible with the passage of motorized vehicles. The entire route is marked with directional signs.
