How to reach the faro of Casós
In the small village of Casós, located at an altitude of 1,218 metres, the faro stands at 1,308 metres, at the Serrafugues pass —also known as the Costera channel— next to the track that climbs towards the forest.
From this elevated point, there is an excellent panoramic view of the whole Barravés valley, with its slopes, open meadows and mountain landscape.
The falla and the tradition
Revived in 2008, the falles of Casós have a distinctive feature: in this village, no large faro is lit. The falles are lit directly from the bonfire of the communal dinner, which brings together local residents and fallaires.
The falla is Ribagorçan in style, made with pine splinters tied to a hazelwood handle. After lighting them, the fallaires descend to the square, where the celebration continues late into the night.
