Fishing rivers Noguera Ribagorçana and Noguera de Tor
The Alta Ribagorça region is home to the Noguera Ribagorçana and Noguera de Tor rivers, offering a variety of regulated fishing stretches. There are catch-and-release areas for those who enjoy sport fishing, stretches where keeping fish is allowed for those who want to savour a good trout, and intensive fishing areas stocked with fish that allow both beginners and experienced anglers to enjoy the activity, thanks to easy access and good riverbank conditions.
Native trout is the most valued species, with variations in size and behaviour. The diversity of settings and species allows anglers to practise different techniques such as fly fishing, spinning or short rod, natural bait or long rod fishing, as well as fishing from a boat or from the riverbank.
For the 2026 season, the official fishing map has been updated with the definition of fishing stretches, current regulations and practical information for anglers.
Fishing areas
The rivers are divided into different types of fishing areas according to current regulations:
- Controlled Fishing Areas (ZPC): require a specific permit per stretch and day.
- Intensive areas: stretches with higher fish density and specific regulations.
- Kill fishing areas: catching fish for consumption is allowed within established limits.
- Catch and release areas: fishing is strictly on a catch-and-release basis.
- Free catch-and-release areas (ZLLSM): no specific area permit is required, but a fishing licence is still mandatory.
Fishing stretches
Fishing stretches are identified by official codes (such as NR-01, NR-11, NR-16 or ZLLSM-NR-01), corresponding to specific sections of the Noguera Ribagorçana and Noguera de Tor rivers.
These codes are essential for booking and managing permits. It is recommended to consult the official map to locate each stretch and understand its specific regulations.
Each stretch has its own regulations regarding season, fishing method and catch limits.
