Route of the Barons of Erill

Proposal for a hiking route that runs through different towns in the municipality of Pont de Suert. Malpàs, Gotarta, Igüerri, and the abandoned villages of Esperan and Erillcastell, the latter historically important, the point of origin of the lords of these valleys. The route is also of geological and mining interest, as it runs close to the old mines of Malpàs. Some sections coincide with the “Pedals de Foc” mountain bike route.

Popular saying: “Erill Castell cannot be entered by sea, land or air, only by jumping from rock to rock”.
