Wildlife Centre

The El Pont de Suert Wildlife Centre was established in the 1990s and is dedicated to wildlife conservation, outreach and environmental education.

The Centre currently works on various conservation and captive breeding projects involving species such as brown trout, otters, the Montseny brook newt, European mink and European polecats, contributing to their conservation and recovery and helping to strengthen their populations in the wild.

The Centre is also an information point for the Alta Ribagorça region and Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, where visitors can find information about the surrounding natural areas, activities, routes and other resources of interest in the area.

It also offers guided visits for all audiences, providing an opportunity to learn more about the different conservation projects carried out at the Centre, discover some of the species they work with and gain a better understanding of the importance of protecting wildlife and the ecosystems of our region.

Visits are adapted to different ages and types of groups, from families and individual visitors to schools, organisations and organised groups. Advance booking is essential.

The Centre also organises environmental education workshops and activities throughout the year, with practical and participatory proposals related to wildlife, ecosystems, biodiversity and the natural heritage of the Pyrenees. These activities are designed to bring nature closer to different audiences in an enjoyable, educational and engaging way.

In addition, the Centre provides a fishing permit management and processing service, helping anglers access the information and complete the procedures required to fish in accordance with current regulations.
