Sacred Art Collection

The works in the Ribagorça Sacred Art Collection are arranged according to their typology:

Altarpieces. The originals of the temple are those of the Assumption and that of San Sebastián and the rest of the pieces come from several churches in Ribagorça, all of them from the Baroque period.

Imagery. This section is made up of several baroque carvings of polychrome wood from different parts of Ribagorça and a Virgin from the thirteenth century.

Goldsmithing. It contained liturgical objects related to different ritual aspects of Christianity.

Painting. It has a pictorial collection from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

Finally, we find the space dedicated to the Monastery of Lavaix, which includes sculptural and architectural elements.

This building forms an architectural complex with the old Abbey Palace of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, which was the residence of the abbots of the Monastery of Santa Maria de Lavaix, and where we find the bell tower of the church.

It houses an important collection of sacred art, mostly altarpieces from various churches in the region.
