15 de novembre de 2023 — 15 de novembre de 2023
Next Wednesday, November 15, at 12 noon, the events and main projects of the commemoration of the 900th anniversary of the consecration of the churches of Sant Climent de Taüll and Santa Maria de Taüll will be presented in the Vall de Boí.
On 10 and 11 December 1123, the churches of Sant Climent and Santa Maria de Taüll were consecrated by Ramon Guillem, bishop of Roda-Barbastro. A consecration that chronologically frames one of the most transcendent pictorial episodes of European Romanesque creation, recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000, along with the rest of the Romanesque churches of the Vall de Boí.
The presentation will be given by the general director of Cultural Heritage, Sònia Hernández; the mayor of Vall de Boí, Sònia Bruguera, and the curator of the Taüll Year, the historian Eduard Riu.
After the presentation, attendees will be transferred to Taüll to visit the preventive conservation and restoration tasks of the church of Sant Climent that will be carried out by the team of the Center for the Restoration of Personal Property of Catalonia. There will also be a visit to the church of Santa Maria where one of the main actions that will be carried out within the framework of the commemoration will be explained. The day will end with a working lunch.
A bus service departing from Barcelona will be enabled by those means that want to cover the day (departure at 8 a.m. and return at 4 p.m.). It is necessary to confirm the reservation of a place at the following email: comunicacioagenciapatrimoni@gencat.cat.
