The objective of the course is to offer an informed view of all the aspects involved in the implementation of the Pyrenean Industrial Mining Company (MIPSA) in Alta Ribagorça, also in its forestry industry aspect. This includes:

– technological and infrastructural aspects;
– the political sphere;
– the alterations that occurred in the landscape and in the natural environment;
– The human impact, both from the side of the native population and from the side of those who settled in the region from other parts of the State.

It is also intended to pay attention to geological aspects, which are of great interest in themselves and allow mining operations to be properly framed.

We combine two morning outings with two sessions in the exhibition/discussion room.

Course attendees must be able to obtain an introductory view of all these aspects, and cohesive enough to retain a solid knowledge of them themselves and be transmitters when necessary.
The target audiences are especially: the native population that carries out activity in the tourism sector, in education, and in various areas connected with the institutions of Ribagorça (town councils or County Council); university or high school students; people who, in general, are interested in these heritage aspects.
