XIIIth NATIONAL CATALAN PYRENEAN HORSE COMPETITION

On November 20, 2021, the XIIIth National Competition of the native breed of equine CAVALL PIRINENC CATALÀ is scheduled to be held in VILALLER.
On November 19 there will be the arrival of the animals and the welcome dinner with the participants, companions and veterinarians, and during the morning of Saturday 20 there will be a popular breakfast, morphological contest of the breed and closing lunch with the breeders, sponsors and collaborators of the contest.
This contest is held annually and rotates in the seven regions involved in the breed: Val d’Aran, Pallars Jussà, Pallars Sobirà, Alt Urgell, Cerdanya, Ripollés and Alta Ribagorça. Farmers from the seven associations participate.
There are seven categories of animals: Sobranys and Sobranyes (one-and-a-half-year-old animals), terçons and terçones (two-and-a-half-year-old animals), quartons (three-and-a-half-year-old males), mares with foal and stallions (animals over three years old) and the first three classified animals in each category that have won in the regional competitions can participate. Normally, in the national competition, a hundred animals participate.
