Viewpoint of the Sant Esperit Waterfall (Aigüestortes National Park)
Viewpoint located within the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, located just after passing Lake Llebreta and before reaching the Planell d’Aigüestortes.
If you make the ascent on foot from the Palanca de la Molina car park following the Lotter route in the direction of the Planell d’Aigüestortes, once you have passed the Llebreta lake you can already see the impressive Sant Esperit waterfall. Continuing along the path you reach the viewpoint, located right in front of this spectacular waterfall of the Sant Nicolau river, where you can see how the water descends the slope forming several very colorful waterfalls.
Over time and the force of the water, the rock has been shaped to create rounded holes known as “giant pots”. These cavities are formed thanks to the constant movement of the pebbles dragged by the current, which rotate in the water and progressively erode the rock until they form round pools that can become quite deep.
The walk from the La Molina car park to the viewpoint lasts approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. You can also access with the 4×4 taxi service to Planell d’Aigüestortes; in this case, the waterfall can be seen during the journey and, once in Planell, the descent on foot to the viewpoint is about 20 minutes.
