Licorera Vall de Boí

Preparation and sale of herbal liqueur

Aromatic and medicinal herbs, as well as other types of fruit shrubs such as blackcurrant (cassis), naions/blueberries, txordons (raspberries), among others, are grown in the place called “La Creueta” in the village of Durro located at 1,395 m in an area of about 1,000 m2. This way they can stock up on their own products and continue to make their liqueurs by hand. They give guided tours. The Vall de Boí liqueur company was born in 2011 as a micro-enterprise for the artisanal manufacture of herbal liqueur.

This liqueur was already made at the beginning of the twentieth century by the godmother Adela Pallejà de la Granadella (Les Garrigues) and she showed it to one of her grandsons, Antoni.
Adela was a muleteer of animal skins and when she went on the roads she collected the herbs and fruits she found to make her particular herbal liqueur for family consumption. Around 1980, Antoni taught Jordi how to make it as his grandmother had done since he was young. This is how it has lasted to this day.
